Our vertically integrated wire mills utilize state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, ensuring the consistency and precise controls that are the hallmarks of a high-quality and efficient wire-drawing operation. Produced exclusively by Leggett & Platt, Joey utilises advanced coil-within-a-coil technology, generating a sleep system that intelligently responds to individual body weights, shapes, and sleep patterns.
Strategically targeted springs contain secondary interior coils which, once engaged, increase in firmness as more weight is applied. This “self-posturizing” system identifies and reacts to every individual body movement. Joey coils offer sublime levels of sleeping comfort with essential body alignment and support characteristics.
SoftTouch pocket springs provide a special combination of responsiveness, comfort, and support, making them highly receptive to individual body weights and shapes.
Variable-rate coil geometry is the secret behind the success of SoftTouch. Our advancements in wire technology allow the manufacture of specially designed, progressive, self-conforming innersprings. These springs provide initial softness to the touch, becoming firmer for needed support as weight is applied, generating a luxuriously comfortable yet supportive pocketed innerspring system.
Each spring is encased in its own fabric pocket, actively reducing partner disturbance and “roll-together”. These fabric pockets are parallel-assembled and secured together by a centre-gluing pattern. This glue pattern ensures each SoftTouch pocket spring is free to act independently to its neighbor, maximizing individual spring and overall unit performance.
Hourglass pocketed springs have a distinctive, variable-rate design which is actually three springs in one. The top and bottom of the coil are wider, producing an initial soft and luxurious feel. The centre of the coil is more tightly formed, giving a firmer and supportive response when engaged. The overall effect is initial softness and comfort followed by good, responsive support as more pressure is applied.
This unique design responds quickly to the shape and movement of individual bodies as they change sleeping position. Individual pockets are boxed, assembled, and secured together by a Leggett & Platt side-gluing pattern.
