Jakarteks produces new mattress ticking fabric according to the needs of the market.

As one of the leading mattress ticking manufacturers Jakarteks adds values such as safety, comfort and hygiene on fabrics and offer to the customers. The company serves the sector with two main items as jacquard mattress ticking fabric and furnishing fabric. Pointing out that they first started with woven mattress ticking fabric, Ms. Semra Avci, assistant general manager of Jakarteks said they continued with knitted fabric in line with the demands and requirements of the market. She answered the questions of Sleep Tech about their operations:

Could you brief us about yourself?

I’m Semra Avcı Demir. I’ve been working in Jakarteks since 2004. After graduation I started to work in our family business leading of my father in different positions. While I’m also a textile engineer, I first have taken place in production, quality then purchase, marketing, finance. After ten years’ experience in many departments, I’m working as vice general manager in Jakarteks, as my father is mostly in abroad.

Could you furnish us with general information about Jakarteks?

Jakarteks is established in 1999 by my father Ali Avcı to supply woven jacquard mattress ticking to market. First years the production was mainly sold in domestic markets, in following year’s business with export markets developed. Now averagely about 80% of our production is being exported.

Could you brief us about your production?

Our production range has been developed due to the market demands since established. Jakarteks started with woven mattress ticking, as the markets developed in years, we started to add knitting mattress looms to our production plants.

Today we service our customer’s woven mattress produced in 10 looms, knitted mattress produced in 6 looms with over 50 stuff on 6000 sq. plant area. We are an integrated plant also, not only weaving or knitting of fabric but also all finishing operations are made in our plant. Due to demand of customers we may apply different finishing operations.

Can you inform us about your foreign trade; exports and imports?

We mostly export our production, partly also sell in domestic market. We purchase raw materials, especially yarns from domestic suppliers also we regularly import some mainly used yarns from Indonesia, China etc.

Is there anything you would especially like to mention?

Our aim is to improve our production range due to the market demands and trends without compromising from the quality. We want to develop new collections, qualities for different and new markets.
