Producing hot-melt adhesives for several industries BKS chemicals company renamed and renewed its management team.
Huseyin Basak, introduced his company and informed about the importance of adhesives in mattress manufacturing.
On his career
I studied chemical engineering at KTU, and completed my graduate studies including a Ph. D. in ITU. Then in 1993, I started as professional manager in the industry. I served as chemical engineer and marketing manager in several companies for years. In 2005 I settled in Kayseri and established a family business there. Then in 2011, we founded Mavera chemical company with our partner Huzur hardware company.
On Mavera and its products
Mavera has been producing solvent based adhesives at the beginning. We added hotmelt line at the end of the year. Presently, we have been supplying both chemicals and several solvent mixes for variety of industries. Huzur group has been producing bed wicks, plastic and metal feet, air capsules and similar inputs for the furniture industry. We both can provide every thing needed for mattress and coach manufacturing.
On the importance of adhesives for the production
One third of our lives spend in sleep, so the chemicals are important in the bed production. They have to be safe for health. Solvent-based adhesives are the most widely used types that have the highest health risks. Demand for this product will be down in the future. Water based or hot melt adhesives are safer than these. As Mavera, we try to lead users towards hot melt products.
On exports
Being rather a young organization, our company fares well thanks to the experiences of its founders in the industry. We started to export our products at the beginning. Presently, our products are sold to Iran, Russia, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Moldova, Poland and Morocco.
On market position of the company
Our firm keeps growing. We produce for other industries besides furniture and mattress industries including printing, packaging, textile, carpet, footwear, automotive, filters, labeling and self-sticking products.
We participate in fairs with an aim to increase our sales both in domestic and foreign countries. Last year we were in Interzum fair, now we are in Sleep Well Expo Fair.
