CIFM / interzum guangzhou 2014 was successfully held at China Import and Export Fair Complex (Pazhou), March 28 – 1 April and brought world furniture leaders together for lucrative trade

The most important event in Asia for the furniture production machinery and raw materials industry, CIFM / interzum guangzhou, was held in southern China, bettering its last edition in exhibitor numbers, by hosting 1,147 companies this year, and cementing its position as the largest event of its kind in the region. Over 60,000 trade buyers visited the wide area at Pazhou Complex where 130,000-square meter had been occupied for Interzum, to source their needs.

Booth spaces had been snapped up as early as three months ago by exhibitors from 32 countries and regions, including Belgium, the UAE, Canada, China, Chile, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, the UK and the US. Among the 280 exhibiting companies from abroad, key show stealers at the international halls are the nine country pavilions helmed by Germany, US / Canada, Italy, Turkey, Chile, Spain, the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), Canada Wood and the debuting Swedish Wood.

Aimed at enhancing the awareness of wood as a natural, environmental-friendly and renewable form of high quality building material and promoting creativity, a special display in Hall 14.1 featuring winning works of the “Design Innovation – Exploring the Possibilities of Swedish Wood” design contest co-hosted by Swedish Wood and the Department of Architecture of the Shanghai Jiaotong University also made its first appearance at CIFM / interzum guangzhou.

“This year marks the beginning into a new decade for CIFM / interzum guangzhou. The growth in the number of exhibitors, especially those from overseas as well as the long-term support of regular exhibitors and new companies signifies a high recognition from the industry. We will continue to increase investment in media outreach, sharpen exhibitor and on-site supporting services, business matching activities and related software to provide a better trading platform for all,” said Michael Dreyer, Vice President Asia Pacific of Koelnmesse GmbH, one of the show organizers.

In addition to the various exhibit segments, the international halls visitor lounge, known as the “PIAZZA” and located in Hall 14.1, was where most fringe activities took place.
