Ümit Makina: Interzum is a fair that our industry is excited for

Barış Ümit, proprietor of Ümit Makina Company, stated that each Turkish company that will participate in the Interzum Cologne 2023 Fair will generate a domino effect.

In his statement about the fair, Barış Ümit mentioned the gap that has been happened in the sector because the fair has not been held for a long time, and said that the mattress components sector is waiting for this fair with excitement. Stating that the recognition and prestige of the Interzum Cologne Fair in the sector will contribute greatly to Ümit Makina as a participant, Barış Ümit stated that they expect more interest and visitors than the attention shown to them in previous years. Talking about the possible effects of the fair on the Turkish mattress components industry, Barış Ümit, in his speech emphasizing unity and solidarity, said; “Every Turkish company participating in the fair generates a domino effect. As Turkish mattress machinery manufacturers and mattress manufacturing materials suppliers, every one of us gives each other a positive touch without realizing it.  In this sense, Ümit Makine is not only an exhibitor on its own behalf, but also a flag carrier for other Turkish representatives. Each institution that carries this awareness and responsibility will increase the indicator of the collective acceleration of Turkish exports and support all Turkish participants, from the smallest to the largest.”

What are your expectations from Interzum Fair?

Ümit Makina participated in many fairs one after the other. Interzum Cologne also excites us as it is a fair that could be organized after a long break due to the pandemic. It is a fair in the middle of Europe that the industry attends with the most enthusiasm and the greatest expectation due to its accessibility and wide scope. I am sure that our stakeholders in the sector will agree, although all other fairs develop an international perception rather than a local feature, the fair that best fits its international title has always been the German fair and in this sense, it has never lost its leadership. As Ümit Makina team, it is very meaningful for us to take part in this fair after a long time. Since the fair is the first fair to be organized after a long waiting period, we expect the participation and interest to increase at a rate that will outweigh the other years. In this sense, we think that the interest in Ümit Makina will be much higher than in previous years. This expectation is supported by the fact that many mattress manufacturers are waiting for this fair to purchase convenient machinery.

How will the fair affect your exports? Can we get your predictions?

In these days when the world is experiencing a stagnant and uncertain period in production and marketing, each new participation and exhibition brings a positive factor to your sales, marketing and of course exports. The German fair, which is easy to access and has the strongest sectoral awareness in the middle of Europe, especially after the closed pandemic we spent with social media and visual complements, will make a very important contribution to the export targets of Ümit Makina and other participants in the mattress machinery production sector.

The rightful contribution of each company to the promotion of mattress technologies in our country will have a positive impact not only on Ümit Makine but also on the exports of each business in our country. Being aware of its contribution to the country’s economy, Ümit Makina will participate in this domino effect with a sense of duty, with its supportive attitude as well as its competitive stance.

What kind of impact do you expect the exhibition to have on the Turkish mattress components industry?

As I mentioned before, every Turkish company participating in the fair generates a domino effect. As Turkish mattress machinery manufacturers and mattress manufacturing material suppliers, each of us gives each other a positive touch without realizing it. In this sense, Ümit Makine is not only a exhibitor on its own behalf, but also a flag carrier for other Turkish representatives. Each institution in conscious of this awareness and responsibility would have moved the indicator of the acceleration of Turkish exports collectively and supported all Turkish participants, from the smallest to the largest. As Ümit Makine, we take special care in directing all potential buyers who come to our stand to Turkish companies, especially in the field of mattress raw material supply, without considering them only as mattress machine buyers. Struggling for this unity and togetherness will be one of Ümit Makina’s top priorities in the German fair, as in other fairs.
